Work is keeping me busy, but Im trying to stay creative!

Ok, so lately things have been hectic.. a month ago I found all sorts of time to begin sewing (he bought me a sewing machine) and start finishing a few art projects that I started a month ago, but lately, all that time is lost. I mean seriously, working from 730am till 9-10pm. It seems to be never ending. Its not a bad thing, its just put my creativity into a new perspective.
I always knew that being creative is something I sometimes have to force on myself. When working on a daily basis with graphics and writing, it can be hard to step outside of work and simply decide to create something for myself, after I've spent the whole day "creating" for everyone else.
Its a struggle... lately, a constant one.
I've come to realize that social media and networking, which was initially a distraction to my creativity, is now an instigator... I feel like I need to show my work, I need to prove that somewhere, deep inside of me... I still have a raw creativity, That my mind can create something outside of what my clients expect of me... that all of my coloring does not end up being in a client website, and I can still create random beauty -just because I feel like it :)
With this thought: I am creative. I am proud to call myself an artist, and that I have not sold out, lol, I have decided to post this blog, and show a few of my sketchbook pages, unfinished as they may be... I do have 10 more that are complete works in progress and I do hope to eventually finish them

Staying busy with work and being random.

Ok, so life is good. great. amazing. I have no complaints. I have recently been insanely crafty sewing purses and monsters, making owl sculptures, and drawing a ton. I even recently went through and scanned my entire sketchbook into photoshop, in the hopes that I will one day finish some of my random ideas.

Things with work are going great, steady and sturdy! We are gaining clients a decent pace, so we havent been overwhelmed. But we are also getting help from some close friends now as well. This has made it possible for us to not be spread too think with our work load. At Flux, we have also found some killer new tools and have gotten the chance to start offering new products. Im pretty pumped.
Im taking a class at the local community college, which has been a learning experience, because its an online class.... and apparently that makes everything ten times more confusing. Its an HTML class, I just want to make sure that I am keeping current with the coding practices and am doing the best we can when updating website for clients or building new ones.

Its been a heavenly summer.

We love our Job.

Funfun. We are going full force at this point. My sister has been here for around 2 months now and we are still living in a one bedroom apartment with Nate. We have our office set up in the dining room and Jens bedroom set up in the living room. Starving artist for sure.
Things are going well. We have clients, are paying our bills, and may actually make some profit in the coming months. Which would be amazing.
Things have been great with my boy, we took an awesome trip to the coast, starting at Newport and all drove the way to Astoria to go fishing on the ocean. I was not happy about conquering this fear. But it wasnt so bad.

Thats the basic update. Im keeping up on like 10 different networks right now and am hoping to download a blogspot app so that I can start blogging from my phone. I started a tumblr. Somewhere, Im not even sure what the domain is, but Ill link it later.

Yes, I agree that I need to start blogging again. Which is important for me to figure out how much Ive progressed and changed and what the hell has been going on in my life during this past year... but when you blog for other people for a living, it can get kind of boring.
Personal Update: Just moved into my new apartment with my boy Nate. My sister is staying with us in a makeshift cubby room in our living room. We are going to be celebrating our 1 year anniversary on the 4th of July, which is weird, because it doesnt seem like a year.

Professional Update: I quit Global. Weird things were going on in that place and it seemed to be oozing with bad karma. I didnt want to work with people who dont care about their clients or the quality of their products. I also did not want to work for a person who refused to see how much I was worth as an employee. I started to become bitter and I do not want to be "that bitter employee". Is it weird for you to have ethics if you work in advertising?

Ok so....next update: Jen (my sister) moved out to Oregon for a few months to help me launch Flux Creative Marketing, (still working on a logo) an advertising agency in which we promote the use of rich media (online videos), as well as social media, as a way to reach a new audience for smaller businesses. I also work with my partner Brandon at Focus Marketing
I basically do the same thing with Brandon, its called Search Engine Optimization. We provide networking and support to our clients as well as web design and other features. I also work on a freelance basis with a small company in Salem, doing miscellaneous graphic design and website templates. I am extremely happy right now. Even though Im barely making ends meet. Haha, a starving artist is a true statement at this point.
Im hoping to start updating this blog more often, I also work on a few other blogs as well, that I have been updating more often. They are silly, but I get a lot of response from them. One of the blogs is about my horrible dieting obsession, Im not going to provide the link, because its pretty private. The other blog is about working on the internet and how to make money doing it. Once get the layout finished I will add links to the topics. Basically I needed to start separating my weird obsession with Google news, and my personal blog and artwork. Please checkout my new website.

They are really fun and Im happy to get to work with such creative clients. Im also happy to have the internet back again!!

Random stuff going on. Work is actually going pretty well. Things are going great with Nate. I finally got my own place. Its awesome. I just got a desk. Finally. So the posting should pick back up shortly. I also have purchased my very own website and with the job, I know how to maintain it. So we will see how this blog progresses once the other site is started, because there will be a blog on thats as well.

I have a fun Peter Pan bit that I want to play with and I want to continue with the Little Red Riding Hood theme. I want to get my blogs to be full wordpress ready websites, so they are easy to keep up with, I also want to be able to get my car and everything fixed up!

Update on the Lovely Life of Liz Davis

Well, this is my personal blog and so unfortunately it seems to always be the last one that I update. I am still working with GME, though have found myself at odds with my career as of late. There are a lot of great things going on in Portland and I may even look into traveling to another state. Maybe I am just getting restless? Probably. Haha, Im sure Nate would be annoyed with that one. We are still dating, almost 4 months now, he is a great guy. I miss my family and am finally moved into the Hawthorne apartment. Things are going well over all. I still need to catch up on quite a few bills and am reworking a few other things in my life right now.... Agh! I am startig a new wordpress blog, specifically for my professional work, so expect updates on that soon.
